1.9 million animals saved in 2021 No Meat May

The results are in! With each of our 65,055 registered participants for No Meat May 2021 saving approximately 31 land and sea animals, we saved a collective total of 1,984,178 living beings.

On average each person who signed up encouraged one friend or family member to join them for a month of incredible food - with an estimated more than 130,000 people taking part.

Our survey of participants eating habits before and after the No Meat May challenge shows a collective:

  • 75% reduction in red meat

  • 63% reduction in chicken & turkey meat

  • 31% reduction in fish & sea animals

  • 33% reduction in chickens eggs

  • 22% reduction in dairy

  • 33% increase in fruit & vegetables

  • 96% increase in pulses, and a

  • 61% increase in nuts & seeds

The impact continues well beyond May, with 93% of participants reporting they have continued to reduce their consumption of animal products, and 30% eliminating all meat from their diets since participating in the challenge.
